With visits from Reverend Al Sharpton, Sonita Alleyne and fashion icon and philanthropist Naomi Campbell, 2023 was a year to remember.

This has been a year of team building and personnel change for many of Homerton’s departments. As you’ll have read elsewhere in this publication, one of the most significant is that Dr Penny Barton will retire as Senior Tutor on 1 January 2024.

Now more than ever, I’d like to think that I am getting into my stride as Principal at the best academic college on planet earth, Homerton.
